I captured this early Sunday morning, when I was set up on a local lochside photographing ducks on the loch. Suddenly the heron flew in, perched for a sec, saw me, then flew off. I managed to capture this one shot. Slightly cropped for comp.

Nice quality light you had...I have a feeling you can lower the exposure on the brights a tad to make it even better looking. Compositionally I would have liked it if you had pointed your lens down more to get more of the neck feathers and give less space above. The eye looks nice and crisp on the iris and pupil, but that is a huge bummer about the injury.

The exposure is nice and I like the pose by the Heron., but I agree with Daniel the composition could be better, with less from the top and more from the bottom. Im also seen some posterization on the background colors.

Nice one William, I would take a sliver off the top too and if those brightest highlights can be toned down I think it would make quite a difference.
