One of the many amphibians I came across whilst trekking in the Peruvian jungle
This one was quite calm and let me take a few shots. I wanted to get just the eye in focus so opened the aperture a bit

Hi Shane
Goes against the rules I suppose but it works well for me. Just that eye looking down does it. You achieved what you wanted to do and thats the point.
Good stuff.

Good use of selective focus Shane, but I would have preferred a little more DOF. I love the inquisitive look of this little frog!

Hi Shane. I like the pose with the head tilt and you did a good job of achieving your stated purpose. Also, it doesn't have that "flashed" look - the lighting looks very natural. Well done!

Great pose, light and natural colors. Like the limited DOF and composition of focus points. TFS.

I really like the shallow DOF there. Sometimes people use too much and images loose depth because of it. Lovely composition that tells a story.
