Hi,
Here is an image of the rough-legged hawk diving from an oak tree to catch a vole. Took this one this afternoon. Hope you like it.

This is a wild bird filmed at Nanaimo Estuary, not baited.

Stats: Canon EOS-1d Mark 4, 600mm and 1.4X, 1/1600sec at F/6.3, ISO800

Same here Steve, Looks really good. Its looking big in the frame but I don't mind that. I think it makes this bird look better :S3: Well done and thanks for sharing

Cool image. Love the dandling talons and the feather detail. I would give the bird more room to fly at.

Very nice indeed!
Good angle of flight and good light angle as well.
Really nice look at the underwing with this dynamic pose.
I could see a version with a bit more room bottom and left.

Super take off pose. Catching a wild bird like this makes the day extra special.

Maybe a slight bit more sharpening around eye and face and darkening pupil would make this even better

Hope you dont mind me trying

Steve just a tad more sharpening - along shane's repost - would take this one up a notch. I could see a version with a bit more room below and to the left, but I also like this as is.

excellent take off pose, I agree it needs a bit more sharpening but not as much as pane 6 where halo artifacts are starting to show

Not to sabotage the post, but to help me learn a bit more; where do you see the halo artifacts Arash? It was a 2min job to show roughly what I meant but I cannot seem to see any artifacts on my repost or not sure what you mean.

thanks for your help as usual
