I thought this ruffled look was a bit different from the usual Sandhill Crane images. Photographed in Fairbanks, Alaska in mid-September. A flock of cranes were feeding in this field of tall grasses. I was on the same level as the cranes and much of the time they were completely hidden in the thick and tall grasses. I liked the look of a crane sticking its head above these thick and picturesque grasses.

Nice one Nancy. Like the forground and BG . Bird spot on.
Crying out for more space left if you have it. IMO
Cheers

Very artistic presentation in the grass. This would also look great as a horizontal, with a little more room right and left, if it's been cropped.

Thanks, John & Diane. The original is a horizontal format so can do as suggested by both of you.

I really like this Nancy and agree with more space on the left. Also I would consider cropping the slightly darker greener band off the top to make the whole background more monochromatic as I think that make the bird stand out even more.

It's the artistic look on this that appeals to me, pleasure to view.
Keith.
