Spotted this guy by chance yesterday and it made me stop my birding activities for a bit of a macro session :-) It was very cooperative and remained on this fern tip for a good 10 minutes.

Love the color opposites in this image! A red bug on a green plant - gotta love it! Beautiful BG and nice focus although I would have loved to have seen the entire bug tack sharp. Still, I really love the pose - reminds me of spiderman scaling a buiding wall!

Hi Daniel,
contrast of the 2 colors is super! Agree with Julie on more DOF ...........but not so much as to influence the BG. Very well done!

Great image Daniel, I really like the details and the colors, the sharpness and DOF and right on also. The flash fill is very good, although I would diffuse the head a little to tone down the highlights.

BTW there is no way, not even F124 to get the entire insect sharp. Wont happen in this dimension anytime soon. As long as the important bits are sharp I couldnt care less at the rear end or the back foot :)

Great subject matter Daniel with loads of impact!! Just a little more DOF (say F11) to bring the abdomen into focus would do it for me!!

Very nice Dan. I photographed the same grove of ferns yesterday but I didn't notice any wasps.
