I was doing a little gardening with my wife Pam and she found this caterpillar on a cherry tree. I was amazed at the camouflage of this little critter.
I tried flash but it was very reflective hence the high ISO and daylight - or lack thereof!
I hope I have the ID correct - I just googled it! John I am sure you will put me right if I am wrong.

Hi John
Brilliant camo what ever. !
Certainly a geometrid but they can be difficult from a photo. To be honest it doesn't look green enough or fat enough. I would go for Swallow Tail butnot 100% certain
What length was it.?

Going from memory I'd say about 4cm.

I really had to look very carefully to find the caterpillar!! Amazing! Makes a nice natural and minimalist composition.
