Long Tailed Tit at pool
Taken at the pool yesterday . Done hundreds of these over the years but never seen one with a bit of a crest. Was hoping it would raise it higher but it didntThis bird was one ofa party of 15 which came down.
Could be a new species - a Great Crested Long tailed Tit.

Great image, John. Like the detail on this cutie. Nice that we see the three or so water drops clinging to the underside of the soaking wet perch.

Lovely shot - very clean, John I like the scene, it has your "natural" (and enviable!) look to it.
You will probably disagree but for me just a tad on the saturated side.

Thanks both.
John- maybe it is a bit Easily fixed.. I wanted to show that subtle pink on the belly.
No saturation boosted by the way- as out of camera apart from I dropping removed and dropped gamma.
Cheers

I like the setting, pose, wet look and composition works well for that long tail. Very well done John.

Nice capture!

LTT do show a bit of a crest every now and then, especially when excited.
This one is a first year by the way.
Note the reddish ring around the eye, which is yellow in adults.

Thanks John

It was probably a family party -(or two)

LTT's are very sociable creatures and their whole life appears to be one family-party as a matter of speaking. ;)

Thinking about it, . . . I don't remember I ever saw one alone actually!
