Another spectacular shot of this spectacular bird. Love the setup perch and the raised foot. Great light on him too; not an easy thing to accomplish in a tropical setting.

Amazing! I have to go to Costa Rica next year!!! I live close by in the Cayman Islands. Just which there was direct flights so I can go there easier!
Great image, beautiful background to go with a superb bird. I agree with Bill on getting a good light on the subject, I can image is not easy in those settings!

The bird is spectacular and the stting is lovely but the background competes with the bird. Toning down the brighter parts of the background would help IMHO.

What an awesome bird! Super colours, nice perch and boy does the bird pop out of the frame. Thanks for sharing Juan! (If anything I wish the right hand part of the perch was more delicate)

Hi Juan Carlos,
How it's work the 600 mm in forest? I am about buy a big lens, I have the 300 2,8 (a great lens anyway) but what about the 200 400 did you try it?
I read all the ARtie comments, and I am still not sure...
All the best

Hello Manuel
I have never tried the 200-400. To me 300mm is too short focal lengh even with the 1.4TC on it. I used that combo for long time, in fact most of my images were taken with the 300f/4 coupled with the 1.4XTC but I do prefer to use the 600f/4 with or without the 1.4XTC. I use the version 1 and I really like how this lens performs! I would not hesitate if I would have to choose a super telefoto for the dark environments we can find in the tropics, I of course, always shoot from a sturdy tripod.
Have a great day!
