Not sure about all the tecs but I did try to capture the wet dark conditions when I made the image and it's one that I do like.

Lovely image Keith. That is one beautiful bird. If mine, I would see how it looked with the barbed wire straightened and cloning out the twig in the lower right hand corner. Great image as is, the rain showing adds to the interest for me.

Keith bet you like it - I love it! The cold dark damp day has resulted in the grey colours, those eyes are super dooper, lovely little misty rain drops on the feathers too - great shot.

Love how the dreary colors of the feathers and the BG help make the eyes even more piercing. Excellent DOF considering your aperture. A slight head turn towards the viewer would have made this image even stronger.

What a thought provoking image, Keith. My first thought was B&W. The eyes are riveting, and I love the look, the ruffled feathers about the head. The color palette is quite unique.

Hi Keith, upgrading the monitor was a good choice/call. The rain & stark BKG adds a nice interest and having an almost monochromatic colour to the backdrop helps separate the subject nicely. Good detail and the those eyes are oh so piercing :S3:. If you have more image content then moving it up in the frame would be good, personally I find it a wee bit tight to the foot, likewise swopping the space so you had more space on the RHS rather than the left.

Thanks Steve, no more room at the bottom I'm afraid, had a choice about space on the right or left but thinking the bird was looking straight ahead went for space on the left.

Really nice crop/composition....the eyes are riveting! I like the slightly windblown plumage and snow in the air...that coupled with the overall color and tones gives me a great cold and windy vibe...Would not change a thing.
