This rare vagrant to South Africa pitched up at one of my local bird patches last weekend.
I had to wait anxiously until yesterday to try my luck. Happy days!

You were lucky for the opportunity to photograph this rare bird to your area Richard.
A very attractive plover, very sharp, and portrayed nicely against the water. If it were mine I would probaly crop a little off the top to strengthen the composition.

What a wonderful sighting for you! Congrats on getting the shot.
Good low POV and I like the green water in the BG.
I would take a bit off the bottom and keep the green! All personal taste.

Hi Richard,

Looks like you made the best of an awesome opportunity. I'll agree with Gail and say that with that low POV, a little bit on the bottom goes a long way. If it were mine, I'd take a bit off the bottom (just a bit), clone out the dark spot in the foreground just below the plover, and think about enhancing the catchlight just a tad.
