I made this image in the Negev desert in southeastern Israel. It was late afternoon in April, so the sun was still fairly high in the sky. Enhanced with Nik CEP, procontrast and brilliance/warmth filters. Critiques are welcome.

Hi Wendy, nicely done. I like how you have arranged the varying tones and differences in the terrain in this scene.

nice, I like the great tones, the Negev is great for landscapes, I was born in Israel so I remember it fondly from my youth.

Thanks, Andrew and Dvir. I agree with you, Dvir...the Negev is full of different textures and colors. I plan to continue to process and post more of these desert images.

Hi Wendy, i like the diferent tones, just not so sure about the bit of clear ground in the bottom of the frame... IMHO i would prefere to leave the dark brown as the bottom layer.

Hi Wendy

This is an interesting blend of colour and textured layers. I wonder what a B&W variant would look like..?

Looks quite harsh, Wendy. I like the simplistic approach in your composition, and the tones work well to convey the harshness.
There seems to be DOF falloff towards the background, suprising given f11 on the 70-200 lens should be sufficient in these scenes.
