sandhill cranes

A calling pair of cranes. They are resident at this local preserve and I rarely see them until this time of year when they come close to the paths. They attracted a crowd of walkers, joggers, birders and photographers. The cranes weren't entirely pleased with the attention and soon moved away from the path. I had handed my usual birding camera to my wife to use a shorter lens on a different body to get wider shots. My wife took this shot and a series which was better than anything I got.
T2i 400mm 5.6 at f5.6 1/1250s auto ISO at 500.

She certainly did well. Great calling pose, good exposure, nice background. And the oof bird works for me here.

I like the calling pose, the light was a bit harsh and the OOF bird distracts IMO, good details.
