Although a tight portrait, you really get a sense of the grassy environment. The mixed lighting works well here except for the eyelash shading on the iris, which always seems to be a challenge with birds with big eyelashes.

Colors work well together.

Do wish he was turned a bit more our way.

Nice! I love the eyelashes! Nice sharpness, beautiful colors in the BG that fit well with the bird.

Think I might shorten the two grass stems coming close to the beak, and maybe (?) remove the one behind the neck.

I am enjoying this portrait just the way it is. You have wonderful details in your bird, and I love seeing the reflection of its eyelashes in its eye. The BG is quite pleasing and the grasses anchor the bird well.
