Nice image Ed, the aquamarine BG looks good and the light is nice and soft. Bud is a little tight in the frame otherwise good job.

Hey Ed,
Maybe a hair tight..............but the Yellows and (natural???) BG are really nice. Well done!

Love that BG! What a nice compliment to the soft yellows in the buttercup.

Robert, Al, Roman, Julie,

Many thanks for the feedback. As always, really appreciated.

The background is natural. Right behind the flower was a plant with very large, broad, heavily-spined leaves. One of those leaves served as the background. Once I got it positioned correctly so I didn't have a spine line passing through the image, I got down to business. The leaf was a very dark green with a hint of bluishness particularly under the shaded canopy. I guess the combination of the leaf color, shade and light from the flash produced the color you see. I was going to kick up the green tones a bit but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it just as is - out of the camera.
