With me having some success with the Gitzo rocket blower in getting the birds attention on my last occasion with the bird I thought (weather permitting) I would try a new perch and try again ,second time lucky, the shot was taken just minuets after the sun had set ,one of those if only a few moments earlier occasions ,however I was still quite pleased as late September is usually a quiet time for them as they go in to survival mode and mainly only appear at dawn and dusk ,Taken with a 1D MIV 300MM F4 1/200SEC ISO 800 -1/3 EV https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3877/15321179896_5be2985b7f_b.jpg (https://flic.kr/p/pkT415)Little owl 24th September (https://flic.kr/p/pkT415) by den9112 (https://www.flickr.com/people/58980779@N04/), on Flickr

Dennis,
Magnificent image of little owl.Looks like he has posed for you only. Very nice pose, beautiful color pallet.
I have edited your image with bit more sharpening and recomposed. I have kept the bird at the center since he is looking straight at you.
I hope you will like it.

Thanks for explaining your method in the other thread! It's always fun to come up with new techniques that work well :-) Looks like it did the job perfectly here too. I like the extra sharpening in the repost and would like something between the two as far as comp goes. I really love the head tilt.

I like the eye contact, clean BG and composition in the repost. Look forward to seeing more if he comes back to give you more opportunities. Nice image Dennis.
