Snowy Egret

I captured this image yesterday at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. The day was overcast with rain predicted later. Few birds were out and about. I was trying out a new lens and desperate for something to shoot. This image is a rather large crop. I like the way it turned out, a frontal view would not have shown the plumage as this view does. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

I do like the pose a lot, and the white on white is always to appealing to me. Gnarly cool perch. Some may same the plumage gets lost in the BG but the effect is alright in this instance IMO. The heavy crop is showing though as the subject lacks the details and is a tad soft as posted.

This is a nice concept Joe but I agree with Daniel that it has some shortcomings. I would try a little more contrast on the bird to see if it 'pops' off the background and perhaps some detail extraction to see if there is anything more to see. Regards, Ian

Nice pose of the bird. I like the light tones and I agree that a bit more detail in the plumage would have been nice.

A fine pose and exposure of the white bird on the light background.
However, I find the dark perch being a little too dominant.
