Not sure exactly what this is but from a quick web search it looks as if it could be a Teaspot Skimmer. If someone could help with the identification that would be great

Shot on a Canon 6D f7.1 1/320 Iso 400 Handheld, Cropped to vertical from horizontal and sharpened in photoshop with the unsharp mask (maybe a tad much?).
Not sure what else was done to it. I'll try to be more detailed in future posts.

Sorry, no help on the id. Lovely dof and sharpness. For me, there is perhaps too much space to the right and above the subject.

Hi Mitch and welcome to the Macro Forum! This is not a species that we find here in northern Minnesota so I won't be any help with the ID either. :S3: This is a beautiful specimen, giving you a very good pose, in nice light, against a pleasing background, and with good overall sharpness. I would agree with Ron about the comp. For my taste, if you cropped about halfway from the top to the tip of the wings and about halfway from the right to the perch, it would be just about perfect. :S3: This is a very strong image and I hope to see more of your work here in Macro!
