I was really happy to get a chance to shoot a tide pool on the Oregon coast. This was a first for me, and the tide pools offer and huge amout of macro opportunities. I don't know yet what this critter was, so if any of you BPN'ers have any idea, let me know. Fuji S5 Pro, Sigma 180, f/32. Next year Jack Graham and I will add these tide pools to 2009, "macro and more" workshop.

Its a green anemone. They are found all up and down the west coast. Nice image. The colors are great.

They are amazing that they can survive in the intertidal zone, they exposed and high and dry on a low tide. When I was a kid I would catch small crabs and hand feed them.

Thanks Robert, I wasn't sure if this was called an anemone or a sea urchine, (not sure if thats how its spelled).

Hey Roman, I was using a polariser on all the shots I took that morning.

I really love the detail in the sand and the anemone. Beautiful color.

What's not to love? Very interesting subject, great variance in textures, fabulous composition. I wonder where I can find a tide pool here in KC, MO?:D
