Very nice to get everything in focus -- not easy! The light on the wings is gorgeous!

I wonder if the darks should be brought up a little? A slightly higher-key presentation might favor the delicate subject.

Perfect position, great details, perfect bkgd. Love that bluish coloring on the body and in the wings. It fairly glows. As Diane suggests, I think the darks could be less dark.

Hi Diane and Nancy, thanks much for the comments. I debate quite a bit to myself how much to lighten the wings in this species. The actual wing color is usually quite a dark black - for this individual probably darker than what I have shown above - but the details are much easier seen when they are lightened as you mention. I like showing details but I also like staying true to the subject. hmmmmmm......

Good points you make Allen Little bit tight in frame but no big deal. Fine looking critter.

Hi Allen. Excellent overall sharpness, a nice diagonal comp, and a clean background. I would agree with you that the dark areas need to be dark to be true to your subject. :S3: Very nicely done!

Excellent shot, I like the pose and the DOF is optimal. If it were mine I would leave the wings but brighten the head and thorax just a little.
