Barn Swallows retro
Taken on Ecktachrome 100 ISO. Taken in friends shed from scaffold in 1980. Scaffold is still up and birds still nesting there. Had to use flash as we did in those days. Frowned upon now I know but even with todays gear you would never do it witout. The birds were not bothered and had a second brood so I am not concerned.
Scanned with home made gear onto Nikon d7000 withSigma 50mm macro and drainpipe tube.
Minolta x700
Mecablitz 402 two heads
All I can remember Probably f16
White poop spots removed
Thanks for comments on last pic

Marvelous image of beautiful family of swallow. Wonderful colors, great details and IQ.
Love the flowers like opened mouths and composition as presented.

Satish.

What an amazing family capture you have here, John. The scan came out well, and I love studying all the various elements of this image!

Thanks . Just realised I used the wrong word "Scanned" Really it was just a case of copying or photographing the slide with my home made bit of pipe and a closeup lens.

This is a wonderful testament to what skilled folks could do back in the old days. And your "scanner" is great! You make all this fancy equipment look like maybe it's not that necessary.
