Lanner Falcon - Falcon biarmicus
Location: Lijersdraai Waterhole, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

This majestic bird scared the daylights out of the drinking sandgrouse as it suddenly flew in and landed on top of the waterhole (early one morning). This is an image of it departing and allowing the morning's drinking activities to continue :)

Very nice Richard. You're getting better and better. This one looks great with the down wings pose and the nice solid eye contact. The feather detail is perfect and I really like the BG and it's colors. Only thing that could have been better would have been not having the head and the wing intersecting. Very nice frame!

Beautiful light, great colours and superb sharpness and IQ overall. David does make a point but no deal breaker.

Nice frame. Really conveys the feeling of effort needed for take off. Nice feather details on the topside and good BG for this desert dwelling falcon

Agree on the point about beak intersecting the wing.
