This white crowned sparrow was photographed during a spring migratory period in Northern Minnesota near the Southern most point of Lake Superior. Food and audio were used as attractants. Perch was set up. Canon7d, Sigma50/500os, iso400, f9, 1/500, barely cropped, selective NR to the bg, USM. Comments and critiques welcomed.

Shawn Zierman.

Shawn,
Excellent image with beautiful color pallet. I like the pose with open beak and as name suggest part of white crown, beautiful colors, great details and composition.
Love the way Sparrow pops up against superb backdrop.

Satish.

Hi Shawn, the colours are super in this image. Nice pose, stunning BG and good detail. Well done. (Are you able to get something out the shadow areas?)

Lovely calling pose and perch. Love the color palette here. I am feeling the bird needs a tad more space on top.

Hi Shawn, super, super pose, nicely angled and with the open beak. Good DOF, sharp, and I do like the detail and colours. Lovely perch full of lichen, and that BG is so smooth to compliment the sparrow. Well captured.
