Dragonfly nymph

Dragonfly nymphs are aquatic predators. While some species are active stalkers, others prefer to move very slowly or sit and wait for prey to come near. This is one of the latter and all of the "hairs" protruding from its exoskeleton help to keep it well camouflaged. Photographed in my 2.5 gallon aquarium setup, 1D IV, 100 mm macro, 1/125, f/14, ISO 160, 2 radio-triggered 430EX flashes (manual mode, diffused), tripod, live view manual focus, mirror lock, cable release. I removed some of the floating bits of debris in the water and ran nr on the background. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Pretty darned fantastic Steve - lovely natural look about it. Tell me did you coax him onto the stem or was it pure patience or fortuitous? I really like the lighting - it mimics light filtering through floating plants on the surface - absolute cracker well done.
