A Guillemot is landing in the middle of the colony with a fish in his mouth in order to feed the young, which is guarded by the other parent. The photo is from my visit to the Farne Islands at the end of June.
Cropped from behind and top, this is about 70% of the full frame. Some noise reduction to the BG, contrast boost and sharpening applied to the bird only. Canon 7D handheld with the 300 f/4L IS. 300mm, 1/2500, f/4, ISO 400, exposure at EV +1.33.

Comments and suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

I like this !
Difficult to separate the bird from the backdrop in a situation like this but you just about made it !
Well done. Looks great fromm where I am sitting, paddling my boat !!

I like the landing pose and the view of the colony in the BG. Good comp. I'd try to liven up the eye, and if within your processing ethics I'd remove the partial heads at bottom left edge for a cleaner finish down there.

Terrific landing pose. Good suggestions by Daniel. The fish in the mouth is a bonus; too bad it doesn't show up more clearly.

Super landing pose Petros! IMO the background is a little distracting and off balance. But cool shot nonetheless. TFS
