Nice looking pose and HA on this one Chris. I like the good look at the feet and the techs look right on. The sepia color tones give this one a nice unique look. Well done

Wow, do those legs and feet pop nicely against that darker colored rock. Great light quality, and yeah you can see the sweet sunrise catchlight in the eye...Water has some nice roil and movement.

Hi Chris, cool pose 'hanging on' to the rock perch. Good detail on the Sandpiper, and I like the 'bubbling' water. I was going to advise to take a bit off the left, but your comp works well as is, at the LH edge is right on the edge of the rock.

Love the feet against the rock and the lovely light.
I like your comp but could see a version with less on the RHS,
Gail

Nice image, showing the feet nicely. Good eye contact and nice soft light. Very nice overall. The only slight problem I have is the position of the bird in the frame. I would take off from the left side to move it off from the center.

Hi Chris, agree with Karl's comment but that apart it's a great looking image.

Cheers Keith.

Excellent image. I like details, his feet on dark rock and 3D effect in the frame.
One more vote for crop on the RHS and a bit of bottom.

Regards,
Satish.

Good light, nice perch, and very cool water. I would have like dthe sandpiper to perch higher for some separation between the belly and the top of the rock, and you could crop off some of the perch at left comfortably and still end up with a balanced comp (the same "cut don't clip" cropping guideline we use for the subjects wings and legs). Sharp as posted and I do enjoy the great view of the feet.

Beautiful shot of the Sandpiper! I like the pose, perch and the water color that matches the moss on the rock. TFS

Outstanding image in so many ways, Christopher. The early morning light is extraordinary in it's warmth adding to the tones of the Sandpiper. The water action around the rock adds to the stance and alertness. Beautiful catch light with clear horizon, and eye contact. Well done.
