Another view of the Mantisfly (Climaciella brunnea) in my lightbox. This is how the mantis-like front legs are usually held - up tight against the body. 1D-IV, 100 mm macro, 1/160, f/16, ISO 100, lightbox studio, 2 radio-triggered 430 EXII flashes, hand held. The background is a print of OOF vegetation. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

Hi Steve,
Great subject - what an interesting creature. Terrific focus, background, and really like the perch with slight diagonal. Very well done.

An amazing little animal, super shot. I downloaded the image and applied curves, taking the central point I just lowered it one tap on the down arrow, you may wish to consider.

Steve, I was relieved to see from another photo that you posted on your flickr site that these critters are tiny. Now I can sleep secure in the knowledge that I am unlikely to be carried off by one. Awesome pic, alhtough I prefer the high key/white surface approach that you have taken on this and other insects.
