Both male and female were busy bringing in nesting material to a nestbox (located just out of the frame at left). A simple branch setup near the entrance hole provided a natural landing spot before they got in, which in turn made for better photographs of them. Both sexes being visually indistinguishable made it impossible to know which one of the two I photographed in this frame...

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, about 80% FF, toned down the brighter areas on the perch.

I just love the perky tail! Makes me smile everytime!
Excellent IQ as well and nice behavior shown. I like the way the branch moves in and out of the frame diagonally,
Gail

I think this frame is more successful than your previous one of this species. Technically superb as usual and with added interest from the nest-building material. I also like the subtle variation in the background. Nice work. Regards, Ian.

Like the OOF tail feathers and the nest-building behavior captured. Very sharp with a nice BG and some sweet light.

With the tail sticking up as is, the personality of the species comes through nicely...Strong simple image design with perfect techs and excellent light quality.

Cute! Such a tough little bird to photograph. The nesting material is a bonus for the viewer.
