I was on the Black Isle last weekend attempting to photograph dolphins, it wasn't easy:e3. Anyway, I saw this herring gull and managed to get this shot, before he flew off.

Thanks for having a look

Great concept and image. A little crunchy? ;)

Nice behavior portrait showing the food item.

The content and storytelling aspects to the image are excellent! The processesing could be improved imo. At a minimum, running selective NR on the background, then reducing slightly the sharpening on the subjects would be an improvement. Good for you for knowing what species of gull it was too :)

excellent pose and priceless food item that has been let down by poor processing, the image is soft, grainy and has too much contrast as posted.

Amazing capture, though the light seems harsh.

I can only assume this is a large crop. I'm sorry to say that the IQ does not hold up here. The light is harsh but unavoidable. If this is a large crop then you may a better image showing the whole bird.

Great scene - one of those rare opportunities, so worthwhile to spend more time on it in pp. Snapped with potent equipment so no excuses :t3 (Shawn's suggestions is a good starting point).

a bit better but the crunchy details and harsh contrast remains. I recommend you check Artie's guide to get more familiar with processing

I much prefer the looser composition on the repost. The crab is an awesome aspect of the picture here! The image looks well focused and exposed so some more TLC in processing will make it shine for sure.
