This image was taken from a blind at a woodland pond last weekend. 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/500, f/5.6, ISO 400. I used Quick Mask to repair a couple missing breast feathers and also removed some specular highlights. I selected the eye in PS and did not add any saturation to it. Cropped from a horizontal original. Comments are welcome.

Wonderful EXP control and nice soft light. "Wood" like to see the head turned maybe one or two degrees more towards you (but that is a close call). Only detail missing is the purple cheek... All in all, very well done.

Nice colors and details here Steve. The eye looks a little "hazy" to me. I did a little eye only selection and adjusted the contrast, reduced brightness, and gave it a tiny tweak of edge sharpening, and it seemed to put a little "crispness" and clarity back into the eye.
