This momma owl's chicks are now out of the nest. She's still busy feeding them while they get their wings.

Neat flight pose, but the light looks quite harsh creating a very contrasty situation. Still, not everybody has a GHO in flight image, so this is cool to have for sure!

I really like the pose and the wing position,agree that the light looks a bit harsh

Wonderful pose and pretty good for such harsh light. Looks like some sharpening halos along the top edge of the bird. (I am learning to spot them thanks to help from Axel and Robert O'Toole (ROT).

agree with all above....nice comp though.

One trick I have learned to really look at sharpening halo is to run a threshold layer
and compare to image. Most of what is shown "is" halo

Thanks for the comments, all. I agree about the halos, a combo of the lighting and the recommended two pass sharpening for web. One pass might have been enough! The halos around the talons are most noticable to me.
