Photographing birds in the back yard yesterday , but they were not co-operating so I turned my attention, and the 600 f4, on the Hybiscus.
Cropped for comp and darkened the BG in CS6 as well as the addition of the stroke.
To quote a friend "One of the most expensive macro lenses in the world".(Lou Buonomo)

800ISO f5.6 at 1/1250th
Manual fill flash at 1/8th power

Beautiful image! The IQ of the photo is excellent, the red on black is always working...:5

This is just wonderful -- perfect light! I would hate the red stroke frame, except for the way you let the one petal go outside. As a result of that, I LOVE frame!

Yes black backdrops grab me ! Interesting frame too. Nicely done.

Hi Joe. I love the light on the flower and the petal extending beyond the frame helps to make this one special! Excellent work!

Very creative presentation with the petal extending beyond the red frame! Good dramatic lighting. Certainly the 600 is not the usual flower photography lens, but it's what you had in your hands and you put it to good use!

Gorgeous frame with wonderful colors and fine details.
Love the light and shadows and the way petal is extending beyond the frame.

Satish.
