I like it a lot Steve !!! Would have like more room at the bottom for its feet !!! Ideally wish the blade was not across the eye but find it a very appealing image !!!! You can select the darker eye and match. Lots of detail and feel !!!!

I like him, Steve. As Al has stated it has a great feel--lots of presence, even though it is partially hidden.
I think I might be inclined to take a little bit more off of the left side--to minimize the darker area.

Very cute capture and the eyes are awesome The mood captured here creates a feeling of mystery and suspense. Like this a lot.

For all the reasons already stated, I like this too. Good job with a different approach!

An interesting effect, Steve. With the beak covered, I like the big X in the middle of its face and forehead formed by the whitish feathers. The one pine needle that passes though the middle of the bird's left eye tends to draw my eye - distracting me from the bird itself. I think the image would be stronger if that was removed.

Cool capture! I like the way he/she is hiding behind the needles but you still have a clerar vision of it.

Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions.
Al, I looked at brightening the left eye but decided against it because there was little catchlight visible as in the right eye and I thought the slightly darker shadowed eye wasn't too noticeable.
Steve, I looked at that pine needle too. I may go back and get that one out or shortened as it draws my eye as well.
