Found this guy hanging out near my neighborhood lake yesterday. He liked perching low so I had to do quite a bit of following to get a decent background. I still did some smoothing on the BG in this image. I know it would be nice to have the tail end sharp but the low perch and obstacles prevented me from lining him up just right. Appreciate any comments on this one...

A very nice shot exposure and colours are excellent. Your own critique says it for me..... if only the tail was in focus! One mean looking dude isn't he, I think he is eating a fly.

I like the angle of the comp and the overall detail. Interesting how the back end drifted OOF, as it appears almost parallel to the lens.

You must have been pretty close !

Sharp where it matters, nice diagonal, excellent background and impressive subject.

Holy sweat. One outstanding image after another. Sharp, gorgeous background, nice light, and an interesting subject with great detail. The eyes are spectacular
