Hand held Canon 1DX Canon 180mm macro ISO 800 -0.3 (forgot to reset the underexposure!) 1/500 sec f11
Oneof our most common butterflies, they are out in good numbers now. I liked the tongue and it's shadow, though I have to admit I didn't notice it when I took the image.

I like the shadow too. Gorgeous background, wonderful sharpness on the butterfly. I tried to like the in-focus bud in the right lower, but can't muster it, sorry. I would have taken it out.

Lovely image and I like the tongue/shadow too. Nice light. Great sharpness and the background really works for this. Agree with Ron about cloning out that small bud. well done.

Hi Jon. This is very nicely done overall (pose, light, sharpness, background), but the curled proboscis and its shadow really make the image for me. Here's another vote for cloning the bud - it keeps drawing my eye away from your subject. :S3:
