Beauty portrait shot, Joe. I would still darken (linear burn) the beak, and face, not including the eye. Also, I would add a little more canvas on the left. Excellent otherwise.

Hello Karl, thank you for viewing and commenting. I think I got the linear burn you suggested right. Here is the image with the linear burn.

Good suggestions from Karl, just gives the image a bit more body, it really is a very nice looking image, sharp bird with a good clean BG.

Cheers Keith.

Beautiful bird, light and IQ, Joe. I'd crop a tiny sliver from the right and add some to the left - but comp almost always comes down to personal preference.
I'd generally have traded ISO/SS for more DOF for portraits/tight shots, but the DOF looks great here and the details are gorgeous.

Good head shot with at least a bit of "feeling" in the background .
Nice one
John

Nice shot Joe. The final one did make some nice changes to it. I'll have to get over there as I've been looking for Limpkins without much luck. Went to Lettuce Lake in Tampa where I've gotten them before but didn't see one. I think the water lever was too high for them.

Hello Steve, thank you for viewing and commenting. Circle B Bar Reserve has many Limpkins. So many they are in the way on the trails at the marsh. If you want to capture images of Limpkins I think that would be a good bet. The wetlands in the marsh are filled with Apple Snails, that is what they feed on.
