While driving around agricultural areas I found a group of Wild Turkeys, with males in full display. I was able to pull over the car, slowly step out, and hide in the roadside ditch down at eye level for an impromptu photo session with them. This tom is seemingly trying its best to prove to me that songbirds are overrated anyways...:t3

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop for comp, a couple of distracting elements in the fg eliminated via patch and clone tools. NR to the BG and FG.

The low shooting angle and the full display make this image very special, Daniel.

Daniel very impressed with the low angle that you have got with this shot, it's a cracking image.

Excellent field technique resulted in a very nice image as above. Bummer on the rise between you and Mr. Tom that left the o-o-f strip covering the bottom of the bird.

Magnificent bird captured and shown nicely. I like that the turkey was in full display and the colors of the plumage shown in your image. I envy your ability to crawl and stay low, it certainly adds to make your images more interesting.

Hi Daniel, lovely image and field craft. I didn't love wild turkeys can be so good looking. You nailed the exposure and sharpness here with excellent details in the dark feathers. I think the white on the snout (?) may be a tad hot. Loi
