Monopod Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro ISO 200 1/50 sec f16, fill in flash -1.6.
Shot taken early morning as he was just warming up, the dew has really reflected the flash, having said that it was pretty apparent in the sunlight too, so I have mixed feelings about flash in this instance.
All C&c welcome.

A beauty Jonathan even with the reflected flash on the dew. What an attractive butterfly.

Hi Jon. This is a very nice specimen captured with excellent sharpness throughout and the diagonal comp is a plus. Like you, I have mixed feelings about the flash because of all the specular highlights. Did you try any shots without flash for comparison? I might suggest cloning some of the dew drops that have turned totally white - such as those below the left hind wing. In an ideal world - and if you had several more arms - this might have been a case where holding a diffusion screen to filter the ambient light could have significantly softened the overall lighting. Not easy to do when using a monopod though. :S3:
