Shot taken the other day while taking images of Wheatear's,I have never seen gold finch's on sandstone rock in old quarry before,always on thistle heads or bush's,very unusual,for me anyway.canno500mm F4 IS L,EX 1/4,ISO500,F5.6,1/320S,EC+2/3,Cropped,sharpened,some level's,denoised BG.

I like the composition and the lovely pose but the plumage seems to lack a little detail?? Maybe a tad more sharpening??

Nice shot of a beautiful bird! I would sharpen the bird more as Jonathan suggested as the bird looks a bit soft...may be it's because of the NR.

I didnt read the other comments until I got to the bottom but I was going to make the same comment. Great looking bird and a nice scene but now were near your usual solid techs.. Something looks wrong.

Chris if you RP as it certainly has lost detail, I might suggest pulling back some Contrast, then perhaps some shadow, as the blacks look choke within the head and this may also help give a little more definition to the eye?
