I meant to post this but got sidetracked by bluebirds. Shot a week ago, half an hour after sunrise. Canon 5D3, 600 II, ISO 2500, 1/2000 @ f/6.3. I did some handholding with that lens for the first time this day, with good results, but think this was on the Wimberley II. Basic LR5 adjustments then to PS CS6 for some NR and a slight amount of Detail Extractor. Did a masked Curve to bring out a little more contrast on the face.

Cropped to about 80% of full frame.

C&C always appreciated!

It's a fine image, well exposed, sharp. I'm not in love with the shadows and the uneven lighting. I live on Long Island where there are lots of osprey, but have very few keeper images of them for this reason! I suppose it's all a matter of taste.

Like the composition and details. Well balanced details on dark (shadows) and light parts. TFS & cheers! Miro

A great image! The shadows have been noted but I don mind it on this photo since it is a nice soft light. I had the same problem with Osprey a few weeks back with harsher light and the result weren't good.

And you are a strong lady! that is not a light lens I know! you have captured great details, light and with a great subject to celebrate, thanks for sharing.

Thanks, everyone! I'd like softer light too, but this is California. Maybe when fire season starts.... (No, I take that back -- it could be too true.) I've been at these nests before sunrise and stayed till sunset (not the same day) and activity is always best with the sun higher than I'd like. Someday I'll get lucky.
