Hi William,
Good BG, nice simple perch and pleasing preening pose.Love the puffed up chest.
I would like to see more room all around the bird and would increase the exposure or brightness, as the image appears a tad dark to me,

Sharp with a nice look at the feet and the breast. A bit lighter would be fine with me. It would have been nice if the bird were preening the feathers on the right side of its breast rather than those on the left side of the breast--that would have yielded a better head angle.

Was this created at a set-up? Is the perch wire or a plain thin branch? Hard to tell.

Hi William, You have captured nice feather detail here so I think there is plenty of scope to give the bird a bit more space as Gail suggests. Cheers, Ian

Thanks for the advice guys.

This wasn't a set up Artie, I was walking along a river bank, looking for Dipper at Cairngorm, Scotland, when I noticed him perched on a wire fence. Handheld.

Lovely perky pose, I would suggest increase exposure just a little.

Lovely details, the yellow is sweet, BG is wonderful
guess it may look better with a bit more exposure and some space around the bird,

I agree a little more space would be good. Nice to see them in breeding attire. We have lost most of ours this last week or so. All gone up to your place !!

You opened up the colors nicely. I'd have masked out the perch to leave it as dark as in the ORIG.
