Great shot of a hard-to-get species, at least around here. Lovely light, nice pose, good perch and lovely BG. I could imagine a version with a little off the bottom, and corresponding amount added at top. Well done.

I forgot to mention that the shot is Full Frame.

Thanks for the feedback, Bill. I will try your suggestion re the comp and see how it looks, it means adding some canvas at the top so I have got to try and remember how to do that, Ha Ha.

Hi Andy, love the light in this, which in turn has brought out the colours nicely. Good DOF on the snipe, sharp, and I feel your comp is just right.

The detail on the feather and the beak and eye is spot on. Background is clean and creates a nice contrast with the bird and the rocks. The rocks are also in just the right plane to give a nice oof platform to bring even more focus and attention to the subject. Great job overall!

This is quite a pleasing image. I love the inclusion of the environment/habitat, and how the snipe fits right in.

I like this one as is and would not change anything. You got some killer light here, very nice sharp details and a fantastic specie with great head angle. Thanks for sharing :)

Andy I am loving your images super details and colours, my suggestion would be to crop a little from the bottom, the stones are just a little large (and add a little correspnding to the top).

Nicely done but for the uneven light. With the light from our right, the face and front end of the bird are in shadow. Lightening those areas in Photoshop would even out the exposure nicely.
