I like the angle, soft light and the snack adds to it. I might give it a tad more space at the right and the darker parts of the plumage look a bit noisy, which is not surprising at ISO 1600.

Very nice image of a Kookaburra with great eye contact, and that meal tops it off. As mentioned already well done for 1/40.

Adding to the plusses above I would add that without the look-back head angle this image would have failed. Not sure if the white thing under the rear belly is feathers or something else, but they look hot. Lastly I would get rid of the branch in front of the bird. All in all, very well done.
