I captured this image at Circle B Bar Reserve in Polk County, Florida. When working on images of egrets I am amazed how such a long neck can fold so perfectly for flight. The neck folds, the head tucks in, and the bill cuts the air. Nature is so perfect in it's design.

Hi Joseph. Great job capturing the egret mid-flight. Did you apply any sharpening to the wings? It may have introduced some noise and a white halo around the edges that contrast with the sky. I also think cropping a little on the right would improve the composition.

A nice flight shot! I'm not seeing a light halo, but only what appears to be topside light on the very front edge of the wings and primaries on the right wing. I see a slight dark edge effect that might be from sharpening.

I wonder if Nik's Detail Extractor would pull out a little more detail in the whites and darks?

good exposure but the harsh light and steep angle worked against you here. The halo is quite visible around the feet. Flat wing position is not that ideal. If you can photograph the egret with water or habitat BG it would be much more interesting than plain sky

TFS and best luck
