Canon 7D Canon 180mm macro lying prone at the water's edge ISO 320 1/320 sec f8
I had been out trying to get some butterflies but no luck I returned home and waited by the pond, eventually the skaters came close in and I was fortunate enough to capture this just as he was going in for the jab!
All C&C welcome.

Hi Jon, your low angle of capture has turned out well, and this has a real 3D feel to it. Not often that we get to see reflections from the little guys. Well captured.

Loving the warm colors and the low angle--low angle on an insect, no less.

I think I posted a little hastily, I reckon this is slightly better (a different file)

Second one for me with the oof back leg gone. Good colour on the water.

I like the second one best. Difficult subject, well captured.

Hi Jon. Your patience paid off with a very cool moment captured! I like how well we can see the prey item and the beak ready to be inserted. The repost is clearly a better image. Very well done!
