...actually, make that two! Likely a breeding pair. This particular scene only last about two or three seconds, and I was sure glad they were perfectly juxtaposed (had I tried moving, even slowly, both would have instantly fled in to the reeds at left of the frame) and both with good head angles.

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1250s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, small crop right and below for comp, a few bright patches in FG cloned and patched out. One taller grass blade in front of the far bird content-awared out. Audio used.

Great shot Daniel. Nice and clean and a pair both calling. Beautiful composition. I think you have a little more room in the mid-tones for detail??

Fun to see a pair together. I have never even laid eyes on one of these gorgeous birds. Your light was lovely and you have great details. I like the fact that this image probably depicts a mated pair and that the back bird has an open bill.

Daniel that's a killer image!
Lovely birds, not easy to get them in the open even when using audio! love the sweet light and composition. If mine, I would have composed with more room on bottom.

Lovely composition and great details, i love the way the frame has one in focus and one completely out
the low level perspective gives it s nice feel
very nicely done

Excellent pose and display of the environment, usually an OOF bird in the BG doesn't work for me but this is an exception because of its position relative to the front bird

great frame

Really nice Daniel. I can never take a photo myself with an out of focus bird in it like this that I like but I really like this one, I can imagine they are very hard to get in the open as well. Gorgeous..

wow - one of the finest shots of this species I have seen. They sure do like that audio!
