I think this is a beautiful bird and I like this pose. It is passing through this area on it's way to it's summer breeding ground. Shooting data as follows:

Nice pose and perch. I would have positioned it higher up and more left in the frame.

I love this species. Nice perch, fresh leaves and good background. I agree with Karl about composition, and had the sparrow turned its head a bit more towards us the eye would have likely been better lit.

Daniel and Karl,
Thanks for your help in improving the presentation of this image. I could do little with the image was posted, but I went back to the original shots and found one that is very close to the original except that the head was turned slightly and it did indeed lighten the eye as you suggested Daniel. Karl - I was able to move this image up and to the left and I think is an improvement. The repost is below. Thanks again for the help.
