This was my first real attempt to shoot Egrets at a lake I basically grew up on. The background has a bit of noise that I reduced in LR. Unfortunately due to windy conditions and boat rocking I had a difficult time nailing focus.

Any critiques welcomed.

Hi David, exposure looks good on the whites, and I feel there is nothing wrong with your focus on the egret. He is separated nicely from the reed BG. I see some artifacts along the outside edge of the wing.

Thanks Stuart, this shot I did manage decent focus I was generally talking about the majority of my shots that day.

Yes I see the artifacts. That was from sharpening in PS using the Shake Reduction Filter, maybe I should go back and take another shot at it?

Nicely composed and exposure is very nice. I think it's worth going back and make a selection on the heron and sharpen just the bird as the shake reduction didn't help you with those artifacts. Otherwise, I like your image.
