Back at our place in AZ for a few weeks. Headed out to Madera Canyon at Bill Forbes' setup. This trip I was really hoping to find Acorn and Arizona Woodpecker and was delighted to hear Bill say both had been present at the pond. The Acorns were plentiful and seemed to bully the Arizona as he only showed up twice and was driven away pretty quickly.
I hope I have eliminated the blue cast on the woodpecker. Edited using my laptop.
Nikon D4, 1/500 @ F4, ISO 1600, 2/3 EV, 500mm, tripod.

Great shot, Roy. I'm still waiting to get a decent image of this guy, since he doesn't favor NJ with his presence. Perfect pose and quintessential woodpecker comp. I'm still seeing some blue cast on my screen, and maybe a bit of oversharpening on the upper portion of the tree.

Thanks, Frank, Bill and Arash, I used 2 different methods to control the blue cast so it should be gone. A trick of the light or because I am using my laptop?

Great shot. It may be because you are using your laptop.

Here's a repost with the color cast corrected.

Thanks Doug, which method did you use to correct it. I must tell you I can't see much of a difference here on my laptop.

Here's a before/after side-by-side shot. Here's what I did (approximately):
1. Created a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer and desaturated the blues by about -65.
2. Created a Color Balance adjustment layer and moved the Cyan/Red slider to +4, the Magenta/Green slider to +1, and the Yellow/Blue slider to -8.

Thanks Doug, side by side I can see the difference.
