I have long wanted to photograph this particular waterfall in winter, but it is a bit of a chore to do so as it lies at the bottom of a very steep valley. A couple of weeks ago I decided to finally make the trek there. The Muskoka region of Ontario which is about 2 hours north of my home has seen significant snowfall this year and on this particular day there remained roughly 4 feet on the ground, which made the hike down into the valley a little tricky, but fun at the same time.

Hit the wrong key..!

I was going to say I love this and I think you have the perfect shutter setting IMHO. I also like the comp with the river running in and out of the image at the diagonals. I also like the snow detail you have captured. All up, a very nice scene perfectly captured I think. The water at the base of the first drop is particularly nice.

Well done

Don

A lovely shot of the falls but I would like to see a little more of the landscape context, it just looks a bit tight to me.

Might work better if it were cropped from the bottom to eliminate a bit of the foreground snow -- it separates the viewer from the waterfall.
Also, some reduction in the blue in the snow and a little contrast boost will help the water.
