D2xs 200-400vr bean bag paning plate shot from 4x4.

full frame. ISO 400 F1/1500 @ F8 Matrix metering -1/7 exp comp

Shot near a waterhole in the Kalahari , it was close to midday light was harsh and conditions were very dusty .

There was about 100 or so vultures ,White backed , Cape and Lappett faced around 6 or seven carcasses of Eland which had died from starvation and predator attacks.

As with all carcasses that Vultures gather at, lots of fights ensue....this was one.

Hi Peter I think the heavy dust helped out with the harsh light !!! Wish I the birds on the right were not merging but love the action I was going to suggest a wider crop but do like the close in showing action big in frame !!! Different image for sure !!! I like it a lot !!!

Dust adds to the action.
Nice capture. Agree with Al on wider frame...

Great interaction captured. As mentioned a bit tight but I think the wing on the left of a third bird is a bit distracting.

Dust definitely adds to the feel of the scrap going on. Great action... Other nits mentioned.

Nicely done.
